Wind damage can happen a lot more slowly than you think, and it’s hard to spot. There will be no physical sign that something’s gone wrong—but there is likely a problem beneath the surface. Shingles can become creased or cracked without you even realizing it, and once a seal is broken and there is debris underneath the shingle, it will never properly seal back down again. Eventually, this will cause leaks in the long run.
The best way to avoid this is to get your roof inspected by an expert at least once a year for any signs of damage. That way, even if you don’t know what to look for yourself, you’ll know that your roofer does!
